OPERATION BRAHMA: INDIA’S HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE TO MYANMAR EARTHQUAKE
Launch of Operation Brahma: In response to the devastating earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand on March 28, 2025, India initiated Operation Brahma to assist Myanmar.
Joint HADR Efforts: Coordinated by the MEA, along with the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy, and NDRF.
Naval Deployment:
INS Satpura and INS Savitri sailed from the Eastern Naval Command to Yangon on March 29.
INS Karmuk and LCU 52 from the Andaman and Nicobar Command departed on March 30.
Relief Materials: Over 52 tons of essential supplies, including clothing, drinking water, food, medicines, and emergency stores.
India’s Commitment: Reaffirms India’s role as the ‘First Responder’ in the region during crises.
