The Pragyan Bharati Scheme, introduced by the Assam government, aims to support and enhance the educational journey of students in the state.

Aim: The aim of the scheme in access to the poor students of the State and to help them achieve the benefits of Higher Education.
Features:
Assam government to provide free textbooks, uniforms and all the other necessities which are required to go to school to all of the beneficiaries.
Assam Government to provide Rs. 1,000 to 1 lakh students for textbooks.
Rs. 1500 and Rs. 2,000 textbook incentive to be provided for students at graduate and post-graduate levels.
The government will give Rs. 1000 per month will all students towards their mess dues.
A one-time education loan subsidy of Rs. 50,000 will be provided
Scooters would be provided to meritorious female students studying in class 12th. (Extended to male students in 2024)
Free admission to colleges under the Pragyan Bharati scheme.
Govt of Assam is bearing the admission fee of college students whose parents’ annual income is less than 2 lakh.
Eligibility criteria for free admission:
Students’ parents should not be employed by the government or any government-affiliated bodies and corporations.
Students are required to enroll as regular students and submit an income certificate of their father or mother.
However, in the absence of income proof, the family identity card or ration card will be considered as a valid proof of income.
The Assam government's Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme is an educational initiative intended to encourage higher education among youth, particularly in the case of girls.
Introduced in 2020, it provides a free scooter to deserving kids who perform exceptionally well on their upper secondary exams.
This incentive is meant to alleviate transportation issues and motivate students to continue their education.
The eligibility criteria to access the benefits of the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme are as follows:
The students must be permanent residents of Assam.
Students should have passed the HS examination under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).
If the applicant is a girl, she must secure a first division, such as 60% marks or more. If the applicant is a boy, then he must secure 75% marks or more.
