  • Total now: 570 entries

Significance of the Works

  • Bhagavad Gita: Spiritual-philosophical text; cornerstone of Indian thought.
  • Natyashastra: Ancient treatise on performing arts, music, dance, drama; foundational to Indian aesthetics and dramaturgy.
  • With this, India has 14 inscriptions on the UNESCO documentary heritage list.

UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme

  • Launched in 1992.
  • Aims to preserve, digitize, and promote access to valuable archival and library holdings.
