77th Biennial Session of Assam Sahitya Sabha : Held from January 31 to February 4, 2025, at Bhattadev Khetra in Pathsala, Bajali district, Assam.

Asam Sahitya Sabha

The first president of Asam Sahitya Sabha was Padmanath Gohain Baruah during the inaugural conference at Sibsagar in 1917.

  • a non Government, non profit, literary organisation of Assam
  • Objective: Promotion and development of Assamese language, literature, and culture.
  • Motto: “Chiro Senehi Mor Bhasha Jononi” (My Dear Language, My Mother).
  • Headquarter: Chandrakanta Handique Bhawan, Jorhat, Assam

President: Basanta Kumar Goswami was elected as the new president of the Asom Sahitya Sabha in December 2024.
