VIKSIT KRISHI SANKALP ABHIYAN

Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is a nationwide agricultural campaign aimed at modernizing Indian agriculture through:

  • Scientific outreach
  • Sustainable practices
  • Farmer empowerment

Launched by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in collaboration with key institutions.

  • Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)
  • Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs)
  • State Agriculture Departments
  • Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)

Key Objectives:

  • Provide timely field-level guidance before Kharif and Rabi sowing seasons.
  • Improve:

  • Water/resource management
  • Promote climate-resilient and science-based agriculture.
  • Empower farmers with knowledge, tools, and technology.

Campaign Scale & Impact

  • Conducted biannually across 65,000+ villages in 723 districts.
  • Targets direct engagement with 1.3 crore+ farmers.
  • Supports the vision of making India the “Food Basket of the World.”

Supporting Initiatives & Digital Ecosystem

  • Digital Agriculture Mission (2021–25): Promotes the use of AI, drones, blockchain, and IoT in farming.
  • AgriStack: Creation of unique Farmer IDs linked to land records and schemes.
  • Namo Drone Didi: Trains rural women to operate drones for agriculture, aiding in input efficiency and precision farming.
  • Kisan Suvidha App: Offers weather updates, market prices, input dealer info, and expert advice.
  • Per Drop More Crop: Focuses on micro-irrigation and AI-based water management to increase water-use efficiency.
